Pacific Northwest based photographer, farmer and forager.
Hi there, I’m Lauren!
I’ve been enjoying photography ever since I was gifted my first digital camera back in 2004!
When I’m not out taking photos you can usually find me outside farming, hiking/backpacking, paddleboarding or foraging for mushrooms. I also enjoy spending time with my husband Bryan and our calico cat Kimchi.
I’m a creative person at heart and always have been. Photography has been a great way for me to express this over the years.
More About Me:
Things I Love:
Backpacking and Hiking: I try to fit in a handful of backpacking trips into my summers to take a little break and unplug. Spending a few days in nature is a great way for me to reset and relax. I’m lucky enough to also live in an area where there are dozens of hiking trails within an hour of me, some of my go to areas are Mt. St. Helens, The Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood.
Organic, Sustainable + Regenerative Agriculture: I actually work part time on a couple organic vegetable farms near me. It might sound weird to some, but I love the hard work and getting dirty!
Trip Planning: Whether it’s a weekend road trip, a couple weeks abroad, or helping a couple plan out their dream elopement. I love to use paper maps of the area I will be visiting and place tiny sticky notes on possible stops along my route. I also have loads of books and go-to online resources I use frequently.
Ceramics: Throwing pottery on a wheel is one of the most therapeutic things I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been working with clay since I was in middle school and still enjoy this form of art.
Reading: Identification books about plants, tree, mushrooms and wildlife.
Locally roasted coffee and craft beer.
Here’s a fun fact:
My husband Bryan and I eloped! We decided to ditch the “traditional wedding” and exchanged our vows on the side of a mountain in one of our favorite Pacific Northwest wilderness areas. This is one of the reasons that I have a soft spot for photographing elopements. Other reasons include my love for the outdoors, hiking, trip planning, and meeting other outdoor enthusiasts.
